The FUDTA Human Rights
Committee advocates equity within the Association as well as within the Fremont Unified School District.
We provide information and engage our unit members in activities and workshops
on issues related to human rights and social justice. The intent of our
committee is to promote positive human relations and improve the education of
all students with a focus on equitable access to public education. Our goal is
to educate our unit members to understand different cultures and sexual orientations,
thus promoting understanding of differences and promote a community of caring.
The FUDTA Human and Civil Rights Committee plans the Association’s program
based on the following concerns:
Ø
A quality
education for all students
Ø
Respect and
dignity for all students and teachers
Ø
Recruitment and
retention of a diverse teaching force and Association leaders
Ø
Training on
human/civil rights issues that impact student achievement
